Miao Silver-Tone Tassel Hairpins — 5-Style Phoenix Crown & Hair Fork Collection

Price range: $14.90 through $19.90

Silver-tone tassel hairpins in the style of Miao and Dong festival silverwork. Five styles: phoenix crown, bird & flower crown, two flower tassel pins and a leaf-drop hair fork. Alloy with silver-tone finish (not precious metal).

In Miao and Dong villages across Guizhou, a woman’s silver is her story — worn in layers at festivals, weddings and New Year, the sound of its tassels announcing her arrival. This collection brings that language into five wearable pieces: silver-tone tassel hairpins and hair forks built around flowers, birds and the phoenix, each ending in a curtain of fine leaf drops that sway with every step.

Five Styles

  • Phoenix Crown — a wide crown pin crowned with a bird-and-flower cluster over a fringe of long drops
  • Bird & Flower Crown — a fan-shaped crown comb with standing birds and dangling floral charms
  • Flower Tassel Pin A — a slim single-prong pin with a blooming flower head and the longest tassel fall
  • Flower Tassel Pin B — the same silhouette with layered leaf drops for a fuller curtain
  • Leaf-Drop Fork — a two-prong U-shaped fork with an engraved arc and a double row of leaf charms

How to Wear It

Slide the pin or fork into a coiled bun or half-up twist and let the tassels fall at the back or side. The crown styles sit best on a firm bun; the U-shaped fork grips thick hair securely. One piece is enough to carry a whole look — hanfu, qipao, or a plain evening dress.

Materials & Care

A note on materials: these pieces are made in the style of Miao festival silverwork with a silver-tone plated finish over alloy. They are not made of precious metal. Keep dry, wipe with a soft cloth after wear, remove before swimming or showering, and put on after perfume. Store flat so the tassels keep their line.

Each piece is assembled by hand, so charm placement may vary slightly from the photos — part of the character of festival-style silverwork.
